Babies come into the world ready to learn everything they can
Babies come into the world ready to learn everything they can Baby’s First year Babies come into the world ready to learn everything they can. Their brains are wired to help them understand and make sense of the world. Researchers have found, for example, that babies have: Language sense by four months. Babies can pick out patterns of sound from their native language amidst a background of many sounds. Number sense by six months: Infants can tell the difference between a large group and a small group of objects. People sense by six months: Babies can tell who is helpful and who is not and prefer the helpful ones. So how do we keep our babies’ young brains active and stimulated without overdoing it? Being ready to learn doesn’t mean that faster or earlier is better. In fact, taking time to first connect with your baby enhances her learning potential. Slow down. One of the things that is hardest for most of us in our fast-paced world is slowing down and enjoying these early months and years. Much of what makes a good life for a baby are long, slow times of gazing into each other’s eyes, connecting, holding, rocking, smiling, talking and offering calming touch. For most of us, these kinds of very human and in some ways simple interactions are very different from our typical “plugged-in” mode of constantly checking our smart phones, having every minute scheduled, and rushing from place to place. But it is exactly what babies need. Babies can teach us to reconnect with a slower pace because that is what they require of us. For some of us, this will be a welcomed change. For others of us, following this pace may feel challenging. Here are some more tips for enhancing your child’s brain development in this very important first year of life. Birth – Three Months Name everything: As you walk around holding your baby, name everything you see. “There is the refrigerator. And I see some bananas. And there is our cat, Fluffy,” etc. Your child will get used to the rhythm of your voice and will begin to make the connection between the words you say and what you are describing. Sing and recite rhymes: Most of us have songs or rhymes in our heads that we learned as a child. This is a great time to pull them out. It doesn’t matter how good your voice is, it just matters that it is your voice. While your child is on the changing table or you are rocking her to sleep or just holding her and playing, recite nursery rhymes (“Baa, baa black sheep” or “Pat-a-cake”) or sing songs (“Bingo” or “Head, shoulders, knees and toes” or “The Farmer in the Dell”). Make eye contact, emphasize rhyming words, and generally have fun together while you do this. Three – Six Months Dance: Put on some music and dance with your baby in your arms. Dance fast; dance slow (and say, “now we are dancing fast, and now we are dancing slow.”) Dance to classical, jazz, pop and children’s music. Elevator Game: Say, “Now we’re going to play the elevator game. Let’s go up (raise him up a little) and up (raise him a little more)” and so forth. “And now we are going down, down, down (slowly)…and when you get all the way down, you get a kiss.” Kiss him and tell him you love him. Reach and Grab: Put safe toys just out of your baby’s reach while she is on her tummy on the floor on a quilt and encourage her to get the toy puppy, etc. This will both help her eye-hand coordination and spur her towards independent movement. Six – Nine Months Prepare for mobility: By now your child is probably sitting and is trying hard to be mobile. During this time, he may start crawling and maybe even cruising (standing and walking around holding onto furniture). You must be sure your house is baby-proof by now. Hide and seek: Partially hide yourself behind a piece of furniture or behind a halfway open door. Use your voice to help her find you (“Where am I? Can you find me?”) This game helps your baby develop “object permanence” where she understands that things she can’t see still exist. Cushion Climb: Put the couch cushions on the floor and encourage your baby to climb on and off the cushions while you safely supervise. This will improve his locomotion and balance. Follow the Leader: Imitate your baby’s actions. If she moves her head to one side, you do the same. If she sticks her tongue out, you follow. Imitation is an important way to learn and it also teaches your baby that she is powerful and can influence what you do. Nine – Twelve Months Water Play: Your baby has probably been enjoying his bath all along, but water play may become even more important and fun at this age. Include a set of plastic measuring cups with your child’s water toys. Set up a bin of water outside on a warm day and let him experiment with pouring, splashing, making waves, etc. Join in the fun! Sound explosion: She may be making lots of sounds now and is probably stringing them together. When she pauses, repeat back the sounds she just made as if the two of you are having a conversation with nonsense words. Real words aren’t too far behind. First words are often a little hard to decipher. Sometimes you think, “That sure sounded close to ‘bottle’ but I’m not sure!” Assume it was the word you thought and respond appropriately. Also don’t worry too much. Some children start to use words before one year of age, but many others do not. Read: Make sure that reading books is part of your daily routine. Choose primarily chunky board books and stop when he loses interest. It is also ok to let him hold, chew, look

Disciplining the One and Two Year Old Child
Disciplining the One and Two Year Old Child Parents of children between the ages of one and two years of age are often confused about how they should discipline their young child. Children at this age are very curious and will constantly be on the move in order to explore their surroundings. Some days parents feel like they say the word “no” more than a hundred times throughout the day. In truth, they probably are. One and two year old children have almost little to no memory skills. This is why parents are forced to repeat themselves regarding the do’s and don’ts within the household. A child this age may begin to understand and immediate direction and may stop what they are being asked to, but it is not uncommon for the child to go right back to doing it again. They are not trying to irritate their parents, they simply just do not have the brain function to retain the rules that have been given to them. In these cases, it is important for the parent to stay calm and repeat the direction or simple word, no. If the behavior is dangerous, the child should be removed from the area or the object should be moved out of the child’s reach. Spanking a one year old for committing a so called disobedient act is fruitless. They will not remember why they were spanked an hour later and really are not trying to misbehave. A parent has the important job that requires their full attention to safeguard their child during their active play hours. This developmental period will require lots of gentle reminders from the parents to help mold their young one into a well behaved toddler. Parents should get some informative and knowledge based toys for kids. As we all know, Children love from toys. At this age if they start applying there brain on various things, they starts learning and mind develops accordingly. We at toysferry provide special ranking of Toys for 2 Years Old kids.
Outdoor Games for Children To Play Alone
Outdoor Games for Children To Play Alone Can’t you find a partner for children to play with them? Are you worried about your child’s physical health because he doesn’t have anybody to play with? Sometimes, it gets challenging to find another kid especially if your kid is a single child. This challenge must be met in order to meet the physical demands of a child. Keeping the importance of playing in mind, I have listed down some of the solo games children can play on their grounds. Parents can and should take part to keep their children engage, but it might not be possible for them all the. Solo Balls Tricks You don’t need to buy the expensive playground equipment because your children can do a lot with a ball. They don’t need a partner to practice soccer, basketball, and shooting. All these games require the ball to hit a goal that can be done alone. You can also install a rebounding net for your children for catching the ball without a partner. It will also increase their interest in the game The Seven-Up Game You must have heard about this famous game, and yes, it does sound difficult to play. To be honest, all you need is a ball and an open space and your child are good to go. Again, there is no need to install heavy playground equipment or build the latest playground structures for such simple yet active games. It is a traditional game that helps your child in mastering his complex playing skills. The Jumping Rope Buy an affordable elastic Chinese rope and a guide book alongside. Teach your children how to use it and set them free to play alone or with friends. If they are playing solo, tie the rope around a chair’s leg to maintain the balance. Racket Sports Wait! Wait! I know you are thinking how can someone play alone with a racket, right? Well, the fact is, you can. Ask your children to make the wall in front of them their partners and play volley tennis ball with it. You can ask them to try the same with the ground. Set a challenge for them and see them growing. Hula Hoop Similarly, they can try hula hoop alone both indoors and out. Again, set a challenge for them and make them count the revolutions they have covered or set the timer to count how long they keep their hoop in the air. To master their skills, make them watch a few videos on YouTube so they can do it better when you are not around. Dancing That’s the most interesting game for children I believe. No playground or balls needed; just music! However, you can also let your children play games like Zumba classes and Just Dance that also teaches them some specific dance moves. Rides Mark the starting and ending points and tell some precautions they have to take. Make them cover the distance by running within a specified time. You can also try the same with a bicycle or a bike, but then again, you can’t be sure of the safety measures as the children love to ride rashly when they are.
Do Kids Really Need To Play Outside
Do Kids Really Need To Play Outside I am sure many parents and Grandparents have memories of playing outside as a child with the other kids in the area. Unfortunately, the fondest traditional childhood activity of playing outdoors has almost vanished in recent times. It is due to the modern technological advancements and ignorance of elders that kids these days don’t know what fun outdoor games can be. A research conducted in 2012 concluded parents do not involve their kids, especially girls in outdoor activities. I will be talking about how much kids need to be outside their homes and engage themselves in physical activities in this article. So stick around ! I am sure you have heard from your parents that their own parents used to push them out for playing every day? It is the story in every home and this is why our parents are more physically active than us. Most of the times, adults blame kids for sitting in front of the screens for long, but they don’t realize it’s not entirely children’s fault. They as a parent have not created such an environment in their homes that their kids could go out and play. It sure is a challenge for them to do so with all those fancy gadgets around, but they should fight it instead of blaming their kids. However, the challenge can be overcome with the help of educational institutions as they have both school playground equipment and preschool playground equipment to keep the kids engaged. Or a daily trip to a park can provide outdoor play. According to experts, kids of age twelve to thirty months should be taken out for fun every day for minimum thirty minutes. However, kids above this age MUST have exposure to the outside environment every day for at least an hour. According to a research conducted in 2012, only half of the children in the world take part in outdoor physical activities on regular basis. These are five years old results and I am sure the situation must have got worse till now. The same study showed that 42% children who do not have child care facilities such as day care that would take them out of the sedentary lifestyle do not play outside at.Another shocking factor is that girls are even more discouraged to take part in outdoor activities. Therefore, there is a clear difference in the number of boys and girls who are active in physical activities. As mentioned earlier, the two core reasons for ignoring the importance of taking kids outside are technological development and busy life of parents. It is therefore extremely important to provide the children outside toys, sports, and games. If not we will be faced with a generation of adults who although brilliant in technology, will be overweight and physically unhealthy. So I would encourage everyone to be more engaged in outside, physical activity.
How to Choose Safe Toys For The Holiday Season
As you search for the perfect toy to give to the little ones in your life this holiday season, you may be confused and even scared about some of the recent media attention on toy recalls and, safety in general. Some parents have even decided to look for other gift alternatives instead of buying toys. But is this really wise? Toys are intended not only to be a form of entertainment for children, but also a beneficial and vital part of their development. They provide a wonderful source of learning and entertainment for kids of all ages. Playing with creative toys enhances motor skills and provides a constructive way to release energy. By selecting quality toys from a company that researches their manufacturers thoroughly and regularly, you are giving a child an amazing way to foster creativity and stimulate intellectual development. Guidelines for Toy Selection Even before any toy gets anywhere near your toddler, you can already ensure their safety and appropriateness to your toddler’s age through a careful and thoughtful toy selection. A good starting point would be opting for age-appropriate toys. Look for a “recommended age” sticker on the toy package. This would guide you on which toys can be handled by your child given his control ability and level of maturity. You must also consider the size of the toy to make sure that the toy or any of its parts could not fit into your child’s mouth. Weight is another matter to bear in mind. You don’t want your child injured should the toy accidentally fall on him. The toy should also be free from parts that can be easily detached such as buttons or strings or chords that may pose the danger of strangulation. Tips for Toy Sanitation The kind and quality of toys are not the only factors that could render them unfit for use or hazardous to your little one. Dirt and harmful bacteria and pollutants that attach to toys could pose danger as well. Let us face it; you can not sanitize your child’s environment nor his toys one hundred percent. But you can certainly make sure they are cleaned properly. One thing to bear in mind is that not all toys are cleaned the same way. The trick is in knowing which toys may be tossed in the dishwasher and which ones should be washed by hand, or spray-cleaned or machine-washed. Most toddler toys may simply be soaked in warm, soapy water. You may add in a small amount of cleaning agents such as a dish soap or liquid soap or dishwashing detergent to get them cleaned. Large plastic toys should be regularly washed with soap and rinsed using a hose to carefully remove hard-sticking dirt. Stuff toys on the other hand may be handled by the machine unless the instruction label warns not to put in washing machine. Another suggestion is to pay attention to age recommendations on toys. They are put on the packages for a reason. You may think your child is old enough to play with a toy that is made for an older child, but toys with small or removable parts can cause injuries or asphyxiation. Some older children also still like to put things in their nose, ears and mouths, so you are the best judge to know what is appropriate for them.
